The Patient Care Technician serves as a vital clinical support partner, working alongside the patient care team to deliver essential care in the Same Day Surgery and PACU departments at Layton Hospital. This role is designed to assist licensed professionals by performing a variety of tasks and procedures, ensuring patients receive compassionate attention during their recovery journey. In addition to direct patient care, technicians may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator, managing unit records, transcribing orders, and maintaining supplies to keep the unit running smoothly.
You will be the eyes and ears of the nursing team, prioritizing basic patient needs such as hygiene, comfort, and mobility while providing excellent customer service to patients and their families. Your day involves collaborating with Registered Nurses and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, and respond quickly to changes in status. Whether you are transporting medications, collecting specimens, or managing unit communications, your work ensures a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
This position is based at Intermountain Health Layton Hospital in Layton, Utah. We are specifically looking for candidates with strong availability to work Monday through Friday on day shifts (between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM). This is a part-time role scheduled for 30 hours per week, utilizing 10-hour shifts.
