This Full-time Night Shift position is based at Intermountain Health Layton Hospital within the Med/Surg department. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be the eyes and ears of the nursing team, prioritizing and delivering basic patient care including bathing, toileting, ambulation, and comfort measures. You will collaborate closely with Registered Nurses and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
In addition to direct patient care, this role offers the opportunity to assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This includes managing unit records, answering phones, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining unit supplies. You will also monitor patients, report changes in condition immediately, and may perform telemetry duties as required. Your work ensures that the unit runs smoothly while providing excellent customer service to patients and their families.
