This position serves as a vital support within the CTH Rehab-Ortho Unit, providing direct, non-invasive patient care in both in-patient and out-patient environments. As a member of the Clinical Nursing Support team, you will play a key role in ensuring patient safety, well-being, and comfort across a diverse range of age groups, from neonates to geriatric patients.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve a blend of clinical observation and hands-on assistance. You will interview patients, take vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meals, hygiene, and ambulation. The role requires operating equipment like Hoyer lifts, performing routine tube care, and collecting specimens. Beyond direct patient interaction, you will maintain supplies, transport patients, and assist in the orientation of new staff members.
Patient safety is a core pillar of this position. You will be expected to proactively identify environmental risks, report potential errors or near misses, and encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions about their treatment plans. Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record and adherence to hospital policies are essential to maintaining the high standards of care expected at our facility.
This is a PRN (as needed) position with a 0.05 FTE allocation. The role is scheduled for night shifts. To support staff working non-standard hours, the organization offers shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, and organizational needs.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to professional growth and patient advocacy. Essential qualifications include a High School diploma or GED equivalent and CPR certification (BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer) within 30 days of hire. While not required, candidates with a CNA, EMT-B certification, or nursing program coursework are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo is highly valued to better serve our diverse patient population.
We prioritize a culture of safety and continuous improvement. All team members are expected to follow strict safety protocols regarding biohazardous materials and chemicals, and to maintain a proactive approach to identifying and correcting risks. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
