This position serves as a vital support pillar within the Clinical Nursing Support department, specifically under PACU - BBRP. The role is designed to complement the nursing team by providing essential patient care and administrative assistance, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients across the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
You will be the eyes and ears of the nursing station, observing patients to ensure their safety and well-being while reporting critical observations to the Charge Nurse. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing basic patient care tasks such as tube insertion, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with activities of daily living like meals, ambulation, and hygiene. You will also manage clerical duties, maintain the physical environment of the area, and ensure strict adherence to hospital and departmental policies.
A key aspect of this role is fostering a culture of safety and patient-centered care. You will be expected to take a proactive approach to patient safety by identifying environmental risks, reporting potential errors or near misses, and encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care. Additionally, you will play a role in the Patient Centered Medical Home model by adhering to and promoting core expectations of care.
We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to professional growth and development. Successful candidates will have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, along with specific training as a Medical Assistant (MA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or equivalent military service (DD214), or completion of two semesters of nursing school.
