This position serves as a vital support within the Adult IP Admission Unit, focusing on providing essential patient care and maintaining a safe, organized nursing station environment. The role is designed to assist licensed personnel by managing basic clinical tasks, ensuring patient safety, and facilitating the daily operations of the department.
You will work with a diverse patient population spanning Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups. Your day-to-day activities involve observing patients to ensure their well-being, performing basic care such as tube insertion, wound care, and phlebotomy, and assisting with activities of daily living including meals, hygiene, and ambulation. Additionally, you will play a key role in patient safety by identifying environmental risks, reporting potential errors, and encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care.
The position requires adherence to hospital policies and the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home. You will also interpret and document EKG rhythm strips under the direction of licensed staff, monitor designated patients for routine and emergent situations, and maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record. Professional growth is encouraged through participation in educational programs, in-services, and workshops.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent, along with specific training such as MA, PCT, CNA certification, or relevant military discharge documentation (DD214). One year of directly related experience is required. A CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification is essential and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
