This role is part of the Med/Surg Subacute (4-E) department, providing essential support to the nursing team. The team is dedicated to delivering compassionate care across a diverse patient population, including Neonates, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups. The environment requires strict adherence to hospital and departmental policies to ensure a safe and therapeutic setting for all patients.
As a member of the Clinical Nursing Support team, you will serve as a vital link between patients and the nursing staff. Your primary mission is to provide basic patient care and maintain the operational flow of the nursing station. You will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing activities while performing necessary clerical and receptionist duties to keep the physical environment organized and functional.
In this position, you will observe patients to ensure their safety and well-being, reporting any changes to the Charge Nurse. Your day-to-day responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living such as meals, ambulation, and hygiene, and maintaining the therapeutic plan of care for patients at risk. You will also play a proactive role in patient safety by identifying environmental risks, reporting potential errors, and encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and relevant training (MA, PCT, CNA, DD214, or nursing school coursework). One year of directly related experience is required. Bilingual capabilities in Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are highly valued. Successful candidates must obtain CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
