The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a vital member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients. This role involves the full nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.
In this capacity, you will participate in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities. You will direct the daily provision of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy, often delegating appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. Your work ensures that patients receive comprehensive care, from ongoing data collection and treatment adjustments to education on transplant and treatment modality options.
This position operates within a healthcare facility characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The role involves direct patient care, which may include heavy lifting, moving patients, and assisting with ambulation. You will frequently stand for prolonged periods and may occasionally need to move equipment weighing up to 200 lbs. or lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs. The environment may expose you to infectious and contagious diseases. Daily tasks also include desk work, computer documentation, and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. Occasional travel to training sites or other facilities may be required.
This role is designed as a foundation for professional development. By completing the CAP requirements, you will be positioned to advance within the Clinical Advancement Program. Successful completion of all Fresenius Kidney Care education and training requirements, along with gaining the necessary experience, can lead to Team Leader or designated Nurse in Charge oversight of Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, LVNs, and RNs.

We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
