The Outpatient RN CAP 2 position serves as a pivotal entry point into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees or a designation for those advancing from RN CAP 1. As a core member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, you will be accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care, encompassing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
In this role, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations. You will participate in decision-making, teaching, and leadership functions, acting as a resource, coach, and mentor for both new and incumbent staff. Your day-to-day involves directing the safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy, managing patient data collection and treatment plan adjustments, and ensuring patients are informed about transplant and treatment modality options.
You will work within a structured environment governed by Fresenius Kidney Care policies, standards of nursing practice, and federal and state regulations. The role requires close collaboration with Supervisors, Clinical Educators, Preceptors, Team Leaders, and Physicians. As a Team Leader or designated Nurse in Charge, you may provide oversight to Patient Care Technicians, LVNs/LPNs, and RNs, fostering a culture of appropriate behavior, work habits, and patient-centered care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing with current state licensure and CPR BLS Certification. This position is designed for Registered Nurses with a minimum of two years of Nephrology Nursing experience. Successful completion of all Fresenius Kidney Care education and training requirements is mandatory before assuming oversight responsibilities.
