The Operator - Oilseeds position is a full-time role based in Fort Benton, MT, reporting to the Plant Supervisor and/or Operations Manager. This role is integral to the daily operations of an industrial hemp processing facility, requiring work both inside and outside the plant. The primary focus is on the setup, startup, and efficient operation of processing equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety and product quality standards.
The position operates on a 4-day, 10-hour workweek, typically Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Depending on business needs, work may also be required on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with overtime opportunities available.
As an Operator, you will manage the full lifecycle of equipment operation, from initial setup to troubleshooting and minor repairs. Your day involves monitoring processes and product quality, adjusting machinery for maximum efficiency, and documenting daily reports. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy work environment, including facilities, equipment, and grounds, while strictly following GMP and SOP policies.
The role demands versatility and physical capability. You will load and unload materials, package finished goods, and collect product samples. A significant portion of the work involves safely operating heavy and aerial equipment, such as forklifts, tractor loaders, articulating boom lifts, and scissor lifts, often at heights up to 40 feet. You must be comfortable working in varied conditions, including dusty environments, extreme temperatures, and confined spaces, while adhering to OSHA safety regulations and electrical safety standards (120V and 480V).
