About the Role
The Operations Supervisor serves as the operational leader at a single location, guiding a team of drivers and hourly associates to ensure customer requirements are met while achieving Penske's strategic goals. This role is designed for an energetic, team-oriented leader who is committed to excellence, innovation, and continuous process improvement.
In this position, you will provide direction to the workforce, overseeing daily activities such as driver deliveries, trailer loading/unloading, and customer service operations. You will be responsible for managing people, systems, and equipment, ensuring that all operations run efficiently and safely. The role requires a hands-on approach, including conducting team meetings, evaluating work methods to boost productivity, and stepping in to provide relief coverage when needed.
A key aspect of this role is fostering a culture of growth and safety. You will establish performance standards, coach associates on their development, and ensure that everyone understands how their work contributes to the customer's business objectives. You will also work closely with vendors and Penske Truck Leasing to maintain fleet equipment and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are met.
Hiring Process & Application
To join our team, candidates must complete the Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation, which includes a review of past employment, education, and criminal history, as well as a drug screening. The interview process will assess your leadership qualities, communication skills, and ability to drive change.
Schedule & Location: This position is based in Southaven, MS. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must be flexible to be on call and complete ride-alongs at night as operational needs arise.
