The Operations Manager (C-SES) serves as the Administrator for the Immunization Section within the Bureau of Epidemiology. Reporting directly to the Chief of Epidemiology, this role acts as the central focal point for managing the statewide immunization program. The position is critical for controlling vaccine-preventable diseases through policy development, standards setting, and quality control.
While the role involves high-level strategic planning and technical consultation on legislation and rules, the majority of the time is dedicated to supervisory responsibilities. You will lead a team of approximately 70 central office and field staff, managing their development, performance, and daily operations. This includes overseeing a $20 million budget derived from federal grants and state funds, ensuring compliance across county health departments, and directing the state's immunization information system.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Tallahassee, Florida. The role requires the ability to learn and communicate effectively in English. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duties before, during, and beyond normal work hours to address public health events.
