Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Operations Engineering works across the region to deliver material handling system launches, retrofits, and innovations. We are a highly team-oriented group that strives to "be smarter together, be faster together, and grow together."
As an Operations Engineer, you will lead and manage the lifecycle of challenging cross-functional projects, developing and delivering the next generation of sortation and distribution solutions. You will play an integral part in planning and implementing the facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives.
You will partner with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure timely handovers, working alongside some of the most talented engineers in the design, development, and delivery of physical distribution systems globally. Your day-to-day may involve managing one or multiple projects of varying scope and complexity. Tasks include coordinating site activities with operations teams and contractors, deep-diving into project progress and resources to identify barriers, and facilitating planning meetings to ensure alignment on objectives and next steps.
You will be responsible for reviewing and approving Sorter System Functional specifications, tracking sorter configurations, and performing systems installation quality, safety, throughput, and performance qualifications. This role requires a solid understanding of design approaches and industry technologies utilized in fulfillment and distribution center designs, often involving direct collaboration with external equipment vendors, customers, or partners.

Location & Travel Requirements This role requires up to 75% regional travel on a yearly basis, which can include up to three weeks in a row, including weekends. When not traveling, you must have availability to work from a corporate office. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of one of the corporate office locations listed (San Francisco, Boston, New York, Nashville, Austin, Houston, Irving, Arlington, or Bellevue).
