About the Role
As an Operating Room RN, you will be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, working alongside providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists. Your role is designed to foster a culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff. You will utilize continuous investments in equipment and technology to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency.
Your day will involve evaluating patients prior to surgery, managing evidence-based practices, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification, while applying critical thinking and scientific judgment to independently deliver safe nursing care. You will also provide essential education to patients and families regarding procedures, medical conditions, and follow-up measures. Additionally, you will participate in rounding with unit leaders to ensure your suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvements are heard.
