About the Division
The Morsani College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking Academic Hospitalist Nocturnists (Open-Rank) to join our faculty group practice. Our team includes more than 45 hospitalists dedicated to providing high-quality inpatient care within an academic medical setting.
About the Role
This position is designed for physicians with a strong desire to work night service (7 pm - 7 am) while contributing to the broader mission of teaching, research, and service. The Academic Hospitalist serves as a vital link in patient care, managing patient flow, interpreting laboratory results, and coordinating care across the hospital system. You will work alongside medical staff to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained and will have the opportunity to develop and implement care protocols.
In addition to clinical duties, this role offers a dynamic day-in-the-life that balances direct patient care with academic responsibilities. You will be responsible for educating medical students and residents, supervising internal medicine residents in an in-patient setting, and potentially precepting students in ambulatory clerkships. The role also involves presenting research projects to advance the field of hospital medicine and may include representing the university on statewide committees.
Hiring Process
Candidates who are Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine are encouraged to apply. Preference is given to those with 1-3 years of physician or hospitalist experience, prior experience in an academic medical center, and a proven track record in teaching and/or clinical research.

Requirements
