WSP is seeking On-Call Archaeology Field Technicians to join our Earth & Environment Cultural Resource Team for project work in California. This role offers a dynamic entry point into a growing organization dedicated to meeting client objectives and solving complex cultural resource challenges.
Selected candidates will work alongside supervisory field staff and senior archaeologists to execute critical fieldwork tasks, including monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery. While current project contributions are focused on Southern California, the successful candidate should anticipate future fieldwork opportunities in adjacent states, including Nevada and Arizona.
In this role, you will play an active part in cultural resource monitoring during both preconstruction and construction phases. Your efforts will directly support client projects by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including NEPA, NHPA, and NAGPRA.
You will exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, strictly adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies. The position requires the ability to perform pedestrian surveys and carry up to 25 lbs. of personal gear and equipment, often in hot, dry high-desert conditions.
We are looking for individuals with excellent interpersonal skills who thrive in a team environment and possess strong oral and written communication abilities. You will be expected to contribute to the completion of state DPR-523 forms and utilize digital data collection software such as ESRI FieldMaps, Survey 123, and WildNote.\n The ideal candidate is willing to travel to remote project locations for up to 10-day rotations. Per diem is provided for travel to project sites in Southern California.

MS/MA degree in anthropology, archaeology, or historical archaeology. Previous work experience in California, Great Basin, or Southwest United States. Large scale construction monitoring and/or terrestrial survey project experience.
