At Western Land Services (WLS), our employees are the foundation of our success. We are an Employee Owned Company (ESOP) where every team member contributes to our future and shares in the financial rewards of ownership. We foster a flexible, stimulating, and family-oriented work environment that recognizes hard work and dedication through advancement opportunities and incentives.
Our mission is to deliver high-quality land services across multiple industries, including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Right of Way, and Commercial Real Estate. We value a culture where problems surface early, solutions move fast, and team members are empowered to take ownership of their work.
The GIS Manager serves as the strategic leader of our GIS department, overseeing nearly 30 team members and managing nationwide operations. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of GIS technology, land services, people leadership, and business growth.
In this position, you will not only build and manage a high-performing team but also serve as the internal subject matter expert on all spatial data. You will drive the WLS GIS Technology Road Map, ensuring it aligns with our AI-Enabled Operations & Tech Initiative. Your work will directly support external clients and internal project managers by delivering spatial intelligence that informs critical decisions across our suite of services.
Beyond technical oversight, you will actively support business development by growing client relationships, contributing to proposals, and presenting complex spatial insights to executives in clear, business-focused language. If you are passionate about optimizing workflows, mentoring talent, and leveraging technology to solve complex land challenges, this role was built for you.
We are committed to finding the right fit for our team. While specific interview steps are coordinated by our recruiting team, the process is designed to assess both technical expertise and cultural alignment. Candidates can expect to engage in discussions regarding their leadership philosophy, technical approach to GIS challenges, and vision for team development.
Western Land Services is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees are valued. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Our Employee Stock Ownership structure ensures that every employee, regardless of position, has a stake in our collective success.
