The Nutrition/Nutrition Site Supervisor at James H. Bean School (RSU 18) plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of students by managing daily kitchen operations. This position is dedicated to overseeing food production and service, ensuring that every meal meets current federal guidelines and state safety standards. Working under the direction of the Nutrition Director, the Supervisor leads kitchen personnel and participates directly in all kitchen activities, from purchasing food and equipment to maintaining sanitation procedures and equipment upkeep.
As a key member of the school's support staff, you will manage the flow of the kitchen from early morning preparation through the end of the school day. Your responsibilities include conducting inventory, purchasing food from RSU 18 vendors to meet projected needs, and completing State of Maine end-of-month reporting. You will supervise the preparation and service of food in appropriate portions while ensuring strict adherence to safety practices. This is a school year position, running Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering a focused schedule aligned with the academic calendar.
