This position serves as a vital resource, consultant, and facilitator within MedStar Health, dedicated to ensuring quality care and maintaining current standards of practice. The role coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs designed to meet the assessed needs of the organization. By collaborating with leadership, content experts, and staff, the incumbent facilitates the achievement of educational goals for learners across the health system.
The role requires a unique blend of clinical expertise and educational leadership. A core requirement is specific experience in Labor and Delivery Nursing. The incumbent will assess learning needs using various sources, analyze results, and disseminate findings to leadership. They will assist departments in designing and facilitating educational activities, providing expertise for program planning, implementation, and outcome evaluation.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing learning environments, developing instructional objectives, and creating teaching methodologies and evaluation tools. The role involves mentoring staff and clients to incorporate class content into performance and healthy lifestyle choices, while providing ongoing coaching to improve critical thinking skills. The incumbent will also participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and develop linkages with community agencies to meet broader healthcare needs.
