About the Role
We are seeking the founding instructor for Mastery Thomas High School's new Career and Technical Education (CTE) program in Health Care, launching in August 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up, creating a rigorous curriculum that prepares students to earn Certified Medical Assistant credentials and confidently navigate their postsecondary pathways, whether that leads to two-year colleges, four-year universities, or the workforce.
As the founding teacher, you will lead instruction in a newly constructed Certified Medical Assistant lab, blending hands-on learning with real-world field experiences. Your day will involve designing engaging, data-driven lessons aligned with Pennsylvania Department of Education standards and industry-recognized exams like NOCTI. Beyond the classroom, you will foster deep relationships with families, collaborate with external organizations to secure job shadowing and internship opportunities, and work closely with school leaders to ensure the program evolves to meet the needs of historically underserved communities.

Requirements
- verifiedGraduated from an approved school of professional nursing and currently licensed as an RN in Pennsylvania
- verifiedGraduated from an approved and nationally accredited postsecondary school for medical assistant and certified as a Medical Assistant
- verifiedAt least 4 years of full-time wage-earning experience as a Medical Assistant
- verifiedCTE Health Sciences CTE Teacher certification with proof of completion of occupational competency assessment and enrollment in university program
