Launched in August 2025, the Health Institute at Hardy is an innovative and dynamic program unique to Philadelphia. Designed to offer career-connected pathways for students interested in high-demand healthcare fields, the initiative is powered by a strategic partnership with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and generous funding from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Through this collaboration, students engage in hands-on learning experiences—including labs, internships, and dual-enrollment courses—that lead to industry certifications. The program features three distinct pathways focused on clinical, operations, and administration roles within the healthcare sector.
We are seeking dynamic educators to teach the foundational Introduction to Health Care Careers I & II courses for 9th and 10th-grade students. This role is pivotal in building students' understanding of healthcare careers while cultivating the technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills essential for their future success.
As an instructor, you will foster an inclusive, student-centered classroom that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and resilience. Your day-to-day involves integrating real-world applications and durable skill development to teach healthcare concepts, preparing students to pass rigorous industry-recognized credentials. You will also align guest speakers, field trips, and immersive hands-on learning experiences with CHOP healthcare professionals into the curriculum. Additionally, you will support the planning and development of curriculum materials for advanced specialized health care career pathway coursework for students across grades 7-12.
We are committed to equity and high expectations for all students. We seek educators who demonstrate a genuine interest in and care for students' personal and academic success. Our environment values professional growth, self-reflection, and a solutions-oriented approach to challenges. We believe in building strong relationships with families and maintaining regular communication to ensure every student thrives.
To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter detailing your experience in the healthcare industry and your passion for education. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certification (or eligibility for an Emergency Teaching Certification) and possess industry-recognized credentials such as RN, LPN, CMA, or CSLPT. Reliable transportation is essential as this role may require frequent travel between multiple locations.
