About the Team

The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a premier educational institution dedicated to academic excellence, research, and community engagement. The Department of Human Physiology and Nutrition fosters a diverse and inclusive learning environment that encourages innovation, growth, and the holistic development of students.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer of Human Physiology & Nutrition to join our team in a temporary, non-tenure track capacity. This role is designed to fill open sections of courses across the curriculum, typically focusing on introductory lecture and/or lab sections of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and exercise science. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time), usually for a single course or lab section, and are made on a semester-by-semester basis depending on current departmental needs.

As a Lecturer, you will engage, educate, and empower students by delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate courses. You will utilize evidence-based pedagogical techniques to support diverse learning styles, facilitate active learning exercises, and develop course materials that align with program objectives and accreditation standards. The role involves creating a safe and effective learning environment in both lecture and laboratory settings, while providing mentorship and academic support to help students achieve their goals.

Hiring Process & Application Instructions

This is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the Human Physiology and Nutrition Department. Applications are reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as business needs arise. Important Eligibility Notes:

  • Work Authorization: This position does not include new visa sponsorship. Candidates must already be in the United States with valid work authorization or an employment-based visa.
  • Location: Applicants should either reside in Colorado or be prepared to relocate within two months of starting employment.
  • Background Check: Final candidates for this appointment are required to complete an Authorization to Release Information and provide contact information for previous institutions as part of the University's misconduct history check program.
