This position serves as the operational leader for multiple designated departments within the Women and Infants Health (WISH) division at Parkland Hospital. The role is critical to ensuring high-quality, patient-centered services by directing daily activities, strategic planning, and resource management. You will act as a bridge between clinical staff, physicians, and administration, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes both staff development and optimal patient outcomes.
As a leader in this capacity, you will be responsible for the fiscal health of the department, managing operating and capital budgets while ensuring resources align with changing volume and acuity requirements. Beyond financial oversight, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, analyze performance data, and implement strategies to enhance patient safety and satisfaction. The role requires a deep commitment to the Parkland mission, utilizing data-driven insights to shape strategic plans and improve the accessibility and regulation of women's and infant health services.
You will serve as a clinical resource and role model, facilitating problem-solving and staff development within a diverse, multidisciplinary team. The position involves acting as the WISH liaison for physicians, nurses, administration, and community agencies to ensure accurate information flow and strategic alignment. Success in this role depends on building positive working relationships across the hospital and with external government and community representatives.
Candidates must meet specific placement requirements prior to hire, including valid Texas RN licensure (or compact license), Heartsaver CPR certification, Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification. Current incumbents transitioning into this role must obtain a master's degree by April 30, 2026.
