About the Role

KU MedWest is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatrics to join our team at the Medical Pavilion in Olathe. This PRN position is designed for a professional registered nurse who will deliver high-quality nursing care within an ambulatory setting. The role centers on applying competent clinical knowledge and independent nursing judgment to assess, plan, and evaluate care for pediatric patients, ensuring their age-specific needs are met.

In this position, you will serve as a vital link between patients, families, and the broader healthcare team. Your day will involve performing preliminary assessments, interpreting patient data to identify requirements, and facilitating appropriate interventions for unstable or complex situations. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to patient and family education, evaluating the effectiveness of teaching, and managing treatment-related inquiries. You will also handle necessary administrative tasks, such as completing forms for FMLA, durable medical equipment, and home health orders, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
