About the Liberty Clinic

The Liberty Clinic serves as a vital hub for ambulatory care, delivering high-quality nursing services to patients within a dynamic outpatient environment. Our mission centers on providing accessible, compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of our diverse patient population. As a team, we are committed to utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes for every individual we serve.

About the Role

The Ambulatory Clinic Nurse (RN) is a pivotal member of our healthcare team, entrusted with the authority and responsibility to deliver comprehensive nursing care. In this PRN capacity, you will apply competent clinical knowledge and independent nursing judgment to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care. Your role involves performing preliminary assessments through observation and chart review to facilitate seamless follow-up with the broader healthcare team.

You will be the first line of defense in identifying unstable or complex patient situations, facilitating appropriate interventions, and implementing clinical decisions. A significant portion of your day will be dedicated to patient education, where you will identify teach/learning needs for patients and families, provide clear instruction, and evaluate the effectiveness of that teaching through documentation. Additionally, you will manage incoming treatment-related phone calls and handle necessary administrative tasks, such as completing FMLA forms and obtaining physician signatures. This role requires the ability to adapt to age-specific patient needs while maintaining the highest standards of care in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Hiring Process & Application

Qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally-protected status. The health system is an equal employment opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

If you require reasonable accommodations to navigate the recruitment process due to a disability, please contact our recruiters by requesting an Accommodation Request form via email at asktalentacquisition@kumc.edu.

Please note that employment with the health system is contingent upon agreeing to the health system's dispute resolution program. We encourage you to create a custom Job Alert to receive recommendations for roles that suit your career interests.
