About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Lead to join our team. In this role, you will lead field inspection teams in performing bridge and structural inspections in accordance with NBIS standards. You will plan, coordinate, and execute inspection projects to meet client and regulatory requirements while performing hands-on inspections of bridges and related structures.
Beyond technical execution, you will mentor and supervise inspection staff, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will serve as a key liaison, coordinating with project managers, clients, and stakeholders regarding schedules, deliverables, and inspection outcomes. This position requires a willingness to work nights and overtime when project assignments demand it, often involving travel to diverse project sites.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma required
- verifiedAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- verifiedMinimum 5 years of experience in structural or NBIS bridge inspection
- verifiedCurrent NBIS Team Leader Certification per Title 23, Chapter I, Subchapter G, Part 650, Subpart C § 650.309 or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment
- verifiedStrong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and VDOT bridge inspection requirements
- verifiedProficiency in inspection software, data collection tools, and Microsoft Office
- verifiedAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents
- verifiedWorking knowledge of MicroStation and MS Office
- verifiedCompleted comprehensive training course based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM) (NHI Course 130055) and be currently with refresher requirements
