This position is based onsite at the UCHealth Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO, within the Radiology MR Scan department. The role involves performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in strict accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, as well as the organization's policies, values, and mission.
The MRI Technologist serves as a critical link in patient care, requiring the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. The day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, scheduling exams, and educating patients regarding procedures and equipment to ensure their understanding and cooperation. The role demands critical thinking and decisive judgment to prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered, while continuously monitoring patient conditions and responding to changes in status.
Technologists are responsible for preparing equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implementing safety standards. A key part of the role involves performing quality control procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and analyzing imaging results to identify and resolve quality issues. The position operates on a full-time basis with weekend night shifts.
