About the Team
UMB's mortgage team was established in 2013 to bring the entire mortgage process in-house. The team possesses a wealth of knowledge, comprised of associates with 10 or more years of experience in the mortgage field. As a vital part of the bank, the mortgage sales team attracts new clients by building relationships with internal stakeholders, real estate agents, and other partners who refer clients with mortgage needs.
About the Role
The Mortgage Loan Originator plays a crucial role in educating, advising, and guiding UMB clients through the loan application process. From the beginning of loan approval to the closing of the loan, you will be with the client every step of the way. Your primary focus is assessing the client's loan needs and advising on the best options to fit their specific situation. Building strong relationships is essential; you will achieve this by providing progress reports to clients throughout the mortgage process.
You will use your banking and lending knowledge to advise clients on what best fits their mortgage needs. Additionally, you will leverage salesmanship skills to build a pipeline and convert leads into clients, while using interpersonal and communication skills to ensure clients are always aware of their loan's progress.
