This position serves as a vital link in our Critical Care Patient Care Delivery team, focusing on the continuous monitoring and management of patient cardiac rhythms. You will be stationed in a ten-bed Critical Care Unit equipped with thirty-two telemetry units, where your primary mission is to observe arrhythmia computers and maintain accurate records of patient cardiac rhythms.
In this role, you will interpret cardiac rhythms, notify appropriate personnel of any changes, and initiate the organization of patient medical records. Your day-to-day responsibilities include transcribing medical plans of care, processing physician orders, and documenting patient needs accurately and timely. You will collaborate closely with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, assist in discharge planning, and maintain a healing, therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Additionally, you will facilitate staff development and assist in the orientation of new employees, ensuring the team remains cohesive and well-prepared.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. The role requires the ability to sit for up to twelve hours and observe CRT screens for extended periods. Successful candidates will complete an approved basic arrhythmia program and obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire, with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within one year and bi-annually thereafter.
