About the Role
The Mess Attendant is essential to maintaining the daily rhythm of our dining facilities in Philadelphia. This role ensures that meal service runs smoothly by managing the flow of food from preparation to service, while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. You will be the face of our dining experience, providing courteous service to all patrons and ensuring a welcoming environment.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of active service and meticulous maintenance. You will stock and replenish food items according to the meal schedule, assist in setting up and closing the serving line, and perform scullery services to wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment. Beyond the kitchen, you will maintain the dining area, ensuring tables, chairs, and floors are clean and ready for the next service. Adhering to strict sanitation and safety protocols is a core part of your responsibility, from proper food handling to equipment care.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be U.S. citizens or legal residents with proof of residency. The selection process includes a review of qualifications, verification of a valid Food Handler's Card, and completion of required health examinations, including a basic annual physical. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
