The Mental Health Worker (MHW) serves as a vital support to licensed nurses within our mental healthcare setting. This role is designed to ensure patients receive timely, compassionate, and high-quality care while maintaining a safe environment. You will act as a key communicator, collaborating with administrators, managers, charge RNs, and the care team to report critical changes in patient clinical conditions, including vital signs, behavioral shifts, and physical symptoms.
In this position, you will be the first line of response to changes in patient status. Under the direction of the Charge Nurse, you will perform essential nursing functions, assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), and help de-escalate challenging situations. Your work ensures that patient rights are upheld and that care remains cost-effective and efficient.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to obtain a FIRE Card within 60 days of employment. Additionally, successful applicants must complete unit orientation to achieve initial MABPRO certification, with a path to Advanced MABPRO certification upon completion of that orientation.

Six months of experience as a Mental Health Worker, Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic. Minimum of six months of adult Behavioral Health, Acute Care, Long Term, or sub-acute direct patient care experience within the last two years, or a minimum of six months experience providing direct care, monitoring, and/or evaluation of individuals diagnosed with mental illness/disability or a medical condition.
