About the Role
The Mental Health Worker serves as a vital support to professional and technical nursing personnel, playing a key role in the care of behavioral impaired or emotionally disturbed patients. This position is designed to ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment while providing essential assistance with daily living activities and patient monitoring.
In this role, you will be the eyes and ears on the unit, responsible for taking and recording vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining strict adherence to infection control and HIPAA compliance. Beyond clinical tasks, you will provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, managing their comfort and privacy with sensitivity to their age, gender, culture, and personal preferences. You will also collaborate closely with licensed nurses to assist with specimen collection, patient transportation, and other care activities as directed.
