This position serves as a vital link in the continuum of care for patients across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatric adults. You will provide direct patient care within a treatment or educational milieu, working to maintain a safe and secure environment that enhances therapeutic effectiveness. The role is dynamic, operating in diverse settings such as in-patient/residential facilities, as well as outreach environments including homes, schools, and community agencies.
As a member of the Behavioral and Mental Health team, you will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to support patients through their recovery journey. Your day involves balancing clinical support with crisis intervention, ensuring that every interaction promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Whether assisting with activities of daily living, leading milieu activities, or responding to psychiatric crises, your work directly contributes to the well-being and stability of those in our care.
You will be joining the UPC Inpatient/Geriatrics department, where the focus is on delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. The team operates with a shared commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and professional growth. In this environment, you will participate in group sessions, in-service education, and staff meetings, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
Candidates selected for this role will be required to complete specific certifications within 30 days of hire, including CPR for Healthcare/BLS and Aggressive Behavior Certification. Additionally, a Mental Health Tech training specialization must be completed within 6 months. Successful applicants will undergo tuberculosis testing upon hire.
