We foster a culture of energetic enthusiasm, where professionals collaborate to maintain the highest standards of laboratory excellence.
As a Medical Technologist, you will be the backbone of our clinical laboratory, supporting high-quality testing through a blend of routine and specialized procedures. Your day will involve preparing specimens, performing complex laboratory tests, and conducting rigorous quality control measures. You will troubleshoot instrument errors, manage preventative maintenance, and evaluate computer data to ensure seamless operations.
Beyond technical execution, this role requires strong communication skills to translate technical information for both medical staff and laypersons. You will also play a key part in training laboratory personnel and participating in continuing education to stay at the forefront of medical science. This position is a Career Ladder opportunity, offering a clear path for professional growth within the organization.
This role operates on a rotating night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, requiring flexibility to work overtime as needed. You will work in a latex-safe environment, often standing or sitting for extended periods, and may occasionally need to navigate confined spaces or elevated areas. The role also requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and maintain acute visual and auditory acuity to perform precise manipulations.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific discipline, with at least one year of clinical laboratory experience (or three years of equivalent experience). Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) is required; if not currently certified, you must be registry eligible and obtain certification within your first year of employment.
Internal candidates must meet specific Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements, while external candidates are expected to complete these requirements within 90 days of starting the position.
