This position is designed for an experienced veterinarian seeking to step into a Medical Lead (Lead DVM) role. It is a primarily clinical position (80–90%) that blends hands-on practice with focused leadership responsibilities centered on medical quality, standards, and direction. You will serve as the medical leader for the hospital, guiding clinical protocols and fostering a positive, collaborative culture while remaining clinically active to maintain credibility with the day-to-day flow of the hospital.
In this role, you will lead by example on the floor, modeling excellent medicine and professionalism. You will act as a clinical sounding board for complex cases, support consistency in medical decision-making, and mentor associate veterinarians. The ideal candidate enjoys practicing high-quality medicine while helping guide team development and clinical standards in a dynamic General Practice + Urgent Care environment. You will work alongside a highly skilled technical and support team, partnering with them to promote efficient case flow and excellent patient experiences.
Your day will be defined by building lasting relationships with clients and their pets, serving as their trusted partner in lifelong health. You will practice your best medicine, from diagnosis to treatment, with the freedom to uphold the highest standards. Clear communication will be key as you educate and empower clients to make informed decisions about their pets' care. You will collaborate closely with a supportive paraprofessional team, contributing to a positive hospital culture where every member feels valued and focused on patient outcomes rather than burnout.
