The Relief (Locum) Veterinarian serves as a vital advocate for pets, providing preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse range of animals including dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles. This role exists to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and associates while delivering professional, efficient, and exceptional service. You will act as a partner to the veterinary medical team, communicating diagnosis and treatment plans clearly to both colleagues and clients.
In this position, you will manage multiple tasks simultaneously, often in a moderately high-noise environment. Your day will involve obtaining client histories, maintaining complete medical records, and educating clients on pet health needs and hospital services. You will be expected to perform basic surgeries, manage controlled substance inventories, and adhere to all local, state, and federal laws. The role requires flexibility to work special hours, including weekends and evenings, and may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to meet client needs and work volume.
