As a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital, UF Health Shands offers a dynamic environment featuring a FACT accredited NCI-designated cancer institute and a Bone Marrow and Solid Organ Transplant Center. This role exists to ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality in a complex, high-volume laboratory setting.
In this position, you will perform simple and complex analyses on tissue, blood, and body fluids using advanced laboratory instrumentation, manual methods, and procedures. You will serve as a key quality gatekeeper, approving the performance of tests by technicians and assuming full accountability for patient results. Success in this role requires providing a high standard of quality through independent judgment, adhering to standard operating procedures, and managing complex instrumentation across varying sample environments.

New hires effective October 1, 2024, must hold a Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field. Current employees hired or transferred prior to this date with a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent meeting state licensure requirements will be grandfathered in.
