Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEscort patients to exam and procedure rooms
- check_circleCollect patient history including medications, allergies, and symptoms
- check_circleAssist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and specimen collection
- check_circleDocument interventions and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record
- check_circleAnswer patient calls and act as a liaison between patients and providers
- check_circleAssist providers with various medical procedures as needed
- check_circleProcess electronic referrals to specialists and ancillary services
- check_circleCollect and handle lab specimens following safety guidelines
- check_circleObserve, record, and report patient reactions to drugs and treatments
- check_circleSchedule appointments and manage patient flow
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School or GED
- verifiedMedical Assistant or practical nursing training program with clinical practicum hours
- verifiedMedical Assistant certification
- verifiedOne-year experience in medical office setting
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
- verifiedKnowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes
- verifiedIntermediate computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows)
