As a Front Desk Receptionist at Life Orthopaedic and Spine, you serve as the vital liaison between patients and our medical staff. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring every interaction is handled with courtesy and promptness, whether in person or over the phone. Your role is essential to the success of our small practice, requiring you to be a reliable team player who supports the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Your day involves managing the flow of patient information and administrative tasks to keep our clinic running smoothly. You will maintain accurate patient charts and computer systems by updating demographic information, verifying insurance for every visit, and handling check-in and check-out functions efficiently. A key part of your responsibility is financial coordination, which includes checking patient balances, collecting copayments and deductibles, and consistently collecting on previous balances.
You will also act as a patient coordinator, efficiently answering phones, taking accurate messages, and utilizing Patient Pop to reply to patients via email and text daily. You are expected to resolve as many patient inquiries directly before escalating them to the back office. Additionally, you will coordinate referrals from primary care providers and manage the front-office aspects of personal injury claims, including obtaining information on MedPay, medical records, and attorney lien letters of protection in advance of patient visits.
