The Media Specialist is a skilled visual content producer dedicated to supporting the creation of compelling, mission-driven media under the guidance of the Media Manager. This role is vital for capturing high-quality photo and video content, editing engaging visual stories, and producing polished final products that align with the YMCA's brand, mission, and organizational goals.
Working collaboratively with the Media Manager, you will assist with content planning, support on-site shoots and events, independently document routine program moments, and complete assigned post-production tasks. Your work ensures that all visual content is creative, impactful, and consistent with established brand standards while authentically reflecting the experiences and communities the YMCA serves.
As a Y employee, you gain access to a free Y membership, along with referral bonuses where you can earn cash or Y credit for referring new hires. You and your family, including siblings, can enjoy up to 60% discounts on Y programs, camps, preschool, and childcare.
The YMCA is committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We value the pillars of character development: honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and diversity.
The YMCA requires all staff to share responsibility for preventing child abuse by upholding professional boundaries, completing mandatory Praesidium training, and reporting concerns. All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.
This position and its pay are dependent on the availability of funds and the continuation of the contracted program. The current contract provides programming for June 2024 - July 2025, with the likely possibility of extension for an additional two years (until July 2027).
