Speciality Tooling Systems (STS) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Automation team. In this role, you will drive the design and development of intelligent industrial automation systems, owning the complete design life cycle from concept through completion and runoff on the customer's floor.
You will serve as a central collaborator, working closely with project managers, customers, estimating, controls, and project management teams to shape manufacturing design concepts. The position requires a deep understanding of machine ergonomics, serviceability, and maintenance, ensuring that structural components are engineered and validated effectively. While you will often lead projects independently, you will also have the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers on larger, complex initiatives.
This is a full-time position based in an office setting within a manufacturing environment. The role is designed for a fast-paced, frequently changing atmosphere where flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. While travel is not typically required (0-1%), occasional international air travel and overnight stays may be necessary to support project needs.
STS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other basis covered by appropriate law. All employment decisions are made strictly on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
