The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level initiative designed to prepare you for a Store Management role within 18-24 months. Rooted in our promote-from-within philosophy, this program offers a clear career trajectory with a defined beginning and an open end, allowing you to shape your future. Upon successful completion of the initial 8-week training, you will progress into an Assistant Store Manager position.
In this position, you will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, providing leadership and strategic insight into store development. You will learn all aspects of operations, client relationships, and internal strategy, understanding your significant role in the team's success. A key part of your day involves growing the company's market share by selling to large commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers who require high volumes of our products.
Your training experience will equip you with the skills necessary for a successful career in management and professional sales. You will develop a foundation for leadership by mastering customer service, sales, marketing, finance, and operations. Additionally, you will engage in professional networking, establishing essential community relationships that drive both business growth and your personal success.
This is an entry-level development program. Candidates must meet the minimum requirements, including holding a valid, unrestricted driver's license and a bachelor's degree by the start of the program. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise. Consequently, a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, and the general public.
