Our team manages the critical supply chain and procurement functions required to keep our engineering groups moving. As a Buyer II, you will operate in a fast-paced research and development environment where you wear many hats and iterate quickly. This role exists to independently manage procurement workflows and design long-term solutions with limited guidance. You will be the bridge between development and engineering teams inside and outside Amazon, ensuring programs are developed efficiently.
In this position, you will decide which actions to take to meet goals even when the problem or strategy isn't fully defined. Your day will involve managing the procure-to-pay lifecycle, from RFPs and RFIs to contract negotiations and vendor strategy. You will work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, Global Trade Compliance, and Legal, presenting decisions to leaders up to three levels above. Success in this role requires a strong background in procuring heavy machinery, lab supplies, testing equipment, capital assets, chemicals, cryogenic equipment, superconducting components, and vacuum systems.
