About the Opportunity
This role provides critical coverage for a full-service acute care hospital in Springfield, OH, following a medical emergency that left the practice without a provider. The position serves a 100% adult caseload within a team consisting of one physician and two mid-level providers. The hospital features 250 total beds, including 6 ICU beds, with onsite lab and X-ray capabilities.
The locum physician will support the practice in both the hospital and office settings. Hospital duties involve managing call and performing complex procedures, while clinic hours run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The team utilizes the EPIC documentation system and is supported by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Role Context
As a Board Certified specialist in Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery, you will step into a high-acuity environment. The role requires managing a diverse range of procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valvular repairs, aneurysm repairs, lung resections, and vascular interventions like carotid and renal endarterectomies. You will also handle ventilation management, bronchoscopy, and the evaluation of acute volume and blood pressure issues.
This assignment begins on May 29th at 7 a.m. and runs through June 26th at 7 a.m. Following this initial period, the need will transition to sporadic coverage for at least two additional months.
