About the Role
Provo City is seeking a Circulation Services Specialist to serve as a pivotal link between library operations and the community. This position goes beyond standard circulation duties; it is distinguished by its responsibility to assist in the supervision of multiple library circulation operations and to lead assigned Library Pages and Clerks. Reporting to a Senior Librarian, the Specialist ensures the efficient flow of library materials while fostering an environment of outstanding customer service.
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day rhythm of the circulation desk, from checking materials in and out to resolving patron account concerns. You will also play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of the collection by monitoring material conditions and determining repair needs. As a supervisor, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor the work of your team, handling workload distribution, scheduling, and providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Hiring Process
Applications will be reviewed starting June 10, 2026. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications to be eligible for consideration. Selected candidates may be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Please note that non-disclosure of relevant information may result in dismissal, and applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment to any Provo City position for a minimum of six months.
