We have a great career opportunity available for a Federal Documents Librarian at our Columbia, South Carolina headquarters. Under the general supervision of the Director of Library Collections and Services, you will serve as the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) Coordinator. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of our federal document collection, ensuring accurate cataloging, and actively promoting these resources to the public.
You will be the bridge between the Government Publishing Office (GPO) and the South Carolina community. Your day will involve receiving and processing shipments of federal print documents, performing MARC copy cataloging using OCLC and Sirsi ILS, and managing the selection profile for federal publications. Beyond the technical aspects, you will actively promote the collection through monthly themes, displays, newsletters, and social media, while representing the State Library at professional conferences and committees.
This role requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to interact courteously with internal and external customers. You will work in a team-oriented environment where your organizational skills and attention to detail will directly impact the quality of services provided to the state's learners.

A master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution. 3 years of professional library experience. Experience working with government documents. Knowledge of library classification systems and standard cataloging rules. Knowledge of MARC and RDA copy cataloging. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
