About the Role

The Lead Teacher (Day School Pittsburgh) serves as a vital instructional leader within our special education program. This role is designed to bridge the gap between direct student instruction and broader program development. You will not only teach but also act as a resource for classroom support, co-teaching with staff in various models such as station teaching, parallel teaching, and team teaching.

In this position, you will organize and implement curriculum and instructional programming, ensuring alignment with standards-based outcomes. A significant portion of your day involves identifying academic goals, selecting appropriate materials, and conducting small-group tutoring sessions for students needing intervention. You will also play a key role in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), overseeing diagnostic testing, and monitoring student progress through standardized assessments.

Beyond the classroom, the Lead Teacher provides supervision to teaching staff, assists in the planning of extracurricular activities, and contributes to the school's culture by implementing Re-ED values in school, home, and community settings. This role requires a balance of independent leadership and collaborative teamwork, ensuring a safe and productive environment for students with diverse needs.
