We are seeking a dedicated Paraeducator specializing in Hearing Impaired support to join our team immediately. This position serves as a vital bridge for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, acting as both an aide and an interpreter within the educational environment. The role is critical for facilitating seamless communication between students and hearing staff, ensuring full integration into classroom activities and recreational settings.
In this capacity, you will support students who are not in an oral speech program, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL), Pidgin Signed English (PSE), or Signed Exact English (SEE). Your presence helps students develop essential communication skills, fosters self-reliance, and provides the emotional support and guidance necessary for academic success. You will work under the general direction of the Manager of Special Education, collaborating closely with teachers to promote safety, discipline, and effective learning outcomes.
