About the Role
Care Options for Kids is seeking a skilled and compassionate American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing during the 2026–2027 school year. In this role, you will facilitate communication and promote language access, ensuring students can fully participate in the general education curriculum and reach their academic and social potential.
You will provide direct interpreting services across classroom instruction, small group settings, and one-on-one interactions. Your day will involve collaborating with general education teachers, special education staff, Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Speech-Language Pathologists, and families to support students in accessing discussions and activities. You will also participate in IEP meetings to ensure communication access complies with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma required
- verifiedAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Interpreting or related field preferred
- verifiedMust meet South Carolina requirements for educational interpreters
- verifiedNational certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) OR Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- verifiedPassing score on the EIPA Written Test (EIPA:WT)
