As the Head Custodian at Brenham Junior High School, you will serve as the operational leader for our custodial services, ensuring a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the public. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, Business Manager, and School Principal, this role goes beyond routine cleaning; it is about stewardship of the school's physical assets and the safety of its community.
You will lead, direct, and support a team of custodians, managing their schedules, performance, and training. Your day involves overseeing preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, coordinating minor repairs, and managing inventory for school supplies. You will act as a key liaison between the custodial staff, school administration, and external vendors, ensuring that work orders are completed efficiently and that the facility remains ready for daily educational activities.
Our facilities team is dedicated to maintaining a secure and functional learning environment. As the Head Custodian, you play a pivotal role in minimizing liability exposure and property damage while fostering a culture of safety and professionalism. You will be responsible for training staff on critical safety protocols, including chemical hygiene, system failures, and emergency shut-off procedures, ensuring that every team member is equipped to handle the unique demands of a school setting.
Candidates must possess a valid [State] Motor Vehicle Operator's license and demonstrate the ability to work standard schedules with flexibility for overtime.
