As a Baker at the Marriott Marquis Houston, you will help keep the promise of "Wonderful Hospitality. Always." by delivering thoughtful, forward-thinking service that upholds our living legacy. You will be responsible for preparing breads and pastries, including doughs, fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating. Your day will involve reviewing production sheets to understand daily variety, cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, and maintaining kitchen logs for food safety compliance.
Beyond the kitchen, you will serve as a department role model or mentor, assisting management with hiring, training, and coaching employees. You will ensure a safe environment by monitoring appliance temperatures, reporting issues, and adhering to all safety and security policies. This role requires moving and lifting objects up to 25 pounds, standing for extended periods, and navigating sloping or uneven surfaces while maintaining a professional appearance and clear communication with guests and team members.
